Sorry, I missed the original posting.

I race my boat once a week on a lake. I switched my 175 furling genny for a 135 furling Jenny because it was too difficult to fast tack the 175. Tacking quickly is important when racing. Like wise, adjusting the shape of the genny and the main is important. My main is a circa 2004 furling main. Adding a boom vang could also help to give you more main sailing area when off the wind. I have one that I’m about to add. There was some list discussion on how to hook one up last year. The difficulty is that one needs to easily disconnect it to use the the pop top.

As I said in a previous post, quickly adjusting the traveler is important in racing so that you can get a good main sail shape after each tack.

For cruising who cares. Adjust one item at a time and just enjoy the experience
