Graham I stuck with the original design too. I can tell you that the system I have is too difficult for my wife to lift. In fact its not so easy for me either. I know that its running free and clear, but its still a heavy lift, especially the last 6 inches. The diamond Board is most likely a solution to that issue; another upgrade that General Boats might offer someday. I agree that a long line at the end of the CB is not a good solution. If the CB cap was not such a big deal to remove and replace, I would experiment, but for now, as with other minor annoyances, I sail the boat as much as possible and enjoy it immensely. ric sv DadventureSee the original archive post
