I have the same set up on Waif - 1984 hull - and I am going through the
possess of rebuilding my center-board cap. Long story, but the board came
down when I was launching -'nuff said.

I too have 2 blocks and I think I will leave them as is - Stan in his
infinite wisdom spec'ed it this way. I suspect you could get away with one
block if you choose to go this route.
