Joe,    Is the outhaul car in your picture the one with the lifetime guarantee that Stan wrote about?  I wish I'd have known about that before I purchased my new outhaul car last summer (version 4?).  The attached pic shows the newest version (as of June 2023).  If you look at the bottom you can see that it's just a smidge too wide to fit in the boom.  I filed that bottom edge down just enough to get it on.  It's been great for me ever since.

I was having great difficulty furling the main and according to Stan it is imperative to insure that the boom is horizontal so tightening the topping lift is required before furling. Once I did that, no problems.

As Scott said, Charles Gabriel is the guy you want.Email him and keep a close eye on your spam folder.  I had a devil of a time getting in touch with him at first, and ultimately his reply ended up in spam.  Once we connected he was very responsive and I had a new outhaul car on my boat in short order.I did have to file a wee bit off of a corner to make it fit, and I know of one other Rhodes owner who had a similar experience.
