Centerboard Down When Motoring on to Trailer?

The only place I could find on the Triad 2 axel trailer was in front of the   vertical post which supports the "V" bow fitting. I wanted the spare to rest on a horizontal part of the trailer.  That put it on the pin which keeps the tongue extension locked.
