Ok
I managed to do exactly that
I purchased 9’ oars, added extensions, purchased oar locks, slipped PEX over the stems/shafts of the oar locks, and inserted the shafts into the winches.
The extensions were added because a 9’ oar is still to short for the freeboard of the Rhodes.

The system works great…
… rowing a 3000 lb yacht with two oars is easy
…. as long as there is NO wind and NO current. Otherwise I found the oars work better as sails and wind vanes …

I would rather this be a fairytale or spoof …
But … been there, done that, got the T-shirt

I can provide pictures in case anyone needs a good laugh … or gentle chuckle …
