Charles, A pigstick is a wooden or aluminum pole to which a burgess can be
attached and is hoisted up the mast via a halyard roved through a block at
the peak. I've attached drawings and instructions that I used to fabricate
my pigstick.  It's fairly simple to do with available materials through your
local hardware store and McMaster and Carr.
