Rueben, I had the same reasoning regarding the placement for the fan at the
bow.  I don't have the thru hull towards the bow that Roger mentioned on my
boat and don't have any sort of drain rigged up from the tray.  I just use
the tray for storage since I don't keep the rode there.  If you determine
that a drain is necessary and you don't have the thru hull towards the bow,
I think that running it to the sink would be the next logical choice.  I
hadn't heard of others running into leaks with the fan at the bow, but I
would be curious to hear from others if that has been a problem and how
they have addressed it.  It sounds like you've gotten in some good single
handing experience.  It's good to hear that you are enjoying the boat!
