Jesse's photos with measurements for his placement of his compass raises a thought in my mind about location that you might want to consider. If there is any possibility that you might want to add additional instruments to the bulkhead then where you place the compass becomes more important. I didn't think about this and placed my compass dead centre. The suggestions by those that it be placed on the companion way side of the bulkhead might be worth considering both for the reduced obstructions and to provide space for future instruments.

Hi Alden,

When I bought it, my boat already had a compass mounted on the port side bulkhead by the companionway.  This placement works well.  I attached some interior and exterior photos with measurements for reference.  Good luck!
