Hey, mine just came apart too! My boat is a 1990 and has the 6-1 tackle
system. It didn't actually break as far as I can tell, it just popped out
of the track. The four ears seem to be okay except 3 out of 4 bushings are
gone and the one that's left is damaged. There's so much play, approx. 1/2"
side to side in the tracks that I think the track just flexed ever so
slightly and allowed the ear to pop out. It happened when we were under
sail, motor off, raised up and tilted up. It would be nice if I could
replace the bushings — are they available? — but more importantly I need to
use strips of starboard or something to fill the gaps on both sides. The
strips need to be about 1/4" thick, 1 and a half inches wide and maybe 18"
long. I think I can slide them in from the top along the inside of the
tracks on each side. That would reduce the side to side play and probably
work until I decide to upgrade to a new system. Here's a couple pics:
