HI Todd 
I don’t have a Diamond board, I have the old style CB.
Here are some pics of how it is rigged including the hose pieces. 
They can be anything, but do not make the diameter too big or they will impede the smoothness of the CB operation (on the old stye ) 
They do help quiet the banging noise,  but they do not prevent it. 
I‘ve taken my CB part 3 times now for various reasons.
I don’t want to do that any more. 
Most recently, I installed a new cap after I destroyed the previous one when the CB entered the cabin. 
Boating is a sure bet that something will happen the you never, ever expected.
