There is also a slide show we put together for the Annapolis party a couple years ago, plus all that Chris Geankoplis’s Enosis has done since. It would be good to compile fun and repair photos in an easy format owners and casual browsers could find. To back up the need DJ identified, I’m inland in powerboat territory and used to be even more so in Indiana. I had identified the limitations of my Bucc18, and found I was sailing less due to ramp lines and weather concerns. Visiting marinas on vacation was biased toward big boats that need lifts. I visited a now defunct sailboat shop when traveling to another state and found boats that sort of met most of my goals. I had never seen a R22 in the fiberglass when it made my short list. Ted’s AirPower videos introduced me to the design. I memorized Stan’s aging website and the ancient photos in the owners’ site. Then Jerry invited me for a sail on Country Rhodes. I was primed when I visited Stan, even though that trip didn’t go swimmingly (no wind, heat and uptight transplanted New York racers had dibs to the marina, their snob wives especially annoying my GF). Modern photos and video clips, as well as preserved old ones, would help promote the class and benefit owners that are considering selling for whatever reason. I’ll leave it to others to devise the format but would be proud to include what I have of the Lark.
