Good idea to replace the bolt and unlock nut. You do not need to remove the IMF tube to do this. Use all new bolts and nut. I reused the old nylock nut and lost the spreader in a squall, damn near lost the mast. Alice was not so happy. I had to use a boat hook to re tension the port shroud and limp into the marina in Elba, see picture.
The shims you can make if you can’t get them from Stan.
