Mike,

Thanks for the detailed response. This spring I found pieces of one of the (broken) white washers lying on the deck. Mast is down. I quickly determined that is was from the spreader. The other one looks like it is not further behind. In other words it looks deteriorated and ready to break.

As for other questions regarding the play, mine spreaders are very loose and was thinking they should be tightened. Others report the same condition, so maybe no worries? Does everyone leave the spreaders attached to the mast while traveling?

The detent spring pin I keep asking about is for the pop top slider carriage. I assume it is the same as the one for the mast slider carriage. It has a pull ring to release the carriage to move positions. The one for my pop top is non-functional, so I can't use the sliding carriage. I have been using a quick pin to hold the pop top as I hold up the pop top in the up position with my head. I'm guessing that I need to remove the IMF to get that slider out to replace the spring pin, but I'm not sure how that spring pin works, or how it is attached etc.

Dave
