Graham, Thanks for the pictures and explanation. It actually makes so much sense. I was actually trying to see if I could make it happen with a thru-hull, but the scupper you showed with the different profile is definitely what I'm looking for. I was overthinking it and thought of attaching it somehow underneath. To Jesse and Roger, yes, this started as a smaller project and then built up momentum. I'd like to be done in under six years though. For what it's worth I discovered that some of my ballast is made up of lead wheel weights. Found those when I was "screwdriver-checking" the stringers in the bilge.See the original archive post
